Islanders-Penguins Game 3: Traveling to Nassau Coliseum

Much like Game 1 of the Islanders' series against the Penguins, Sunday's Game 3 will be a headache for fans. At least getting there will be.

With the Long Island Marathon set for Sunday as well, there are a number of road closures in place. The game is scheduled for noon and doors will open at 10:30 a.m. The Islanders have advised fans to allow for extra time to get to Nassau Coliseum because of the closures, listed below.

School Street (Old Country Road to Railroad Avenue) 7:45 a.m. 10 a.m.
Salisbury Park Drive (closed southbound only) 7:45 a.m. 10:30 a.m.
Railroad Avenue 7:45 a.m. 10 a.m.
Post Avenue (Railroad Avenue to Jericho Turnpike) 8 a.m. 10:30 a.m.
Jericho Turnpike* (Post Avenue to Brush Hollow Road) 8 a.m. 11 a.m.
Brush Hollow Road** 8:15 a.m. 11:30 a.m.
Carman Avenue (Old Country Road to Nottingham Road) 8:15 a.m. 2 p.m.
Wantagh Parkway 7 a.m. 2 p.m.


Other closures include:
-Northern State Parkway exits to Post Avenue and Wantagh Parkway, and all exits and entrances to and from Wantagh Parkway will be closed from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
-Meadowbrook Parkway exits and entrances to and from Charles Lindbergh Boulevard (Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College) and Eisenhower Park exits (M4) will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
-The Merrick Avenue entrance to Eisenhower Park Boulevard will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., but is subject to earlier closure.

Other notes:
The Hempstead Turnpike entrance to Eisenhower Park Boulevard will remain open all day, but there will be no through traffic from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

*The westbound side of Jericho Turnpike and **Brush Hollow Road, south of Wantagh Parkway, will remain open.
