The NHL announced each team's 2010-11 regular-season schedule today, so for those in full visit NHL.com, but here are some highlights of the Islanders schedule:
-As reported yesterday, the Isles' home opener will be against Dallas on Saturday, October 9
-The Isles will then host their rivals--the New York Rangers-- for the second game of the season, a 1 p.m. matinee Monday, October 11.
-After their first two games, the Islanders will play 12 of their next 15 games on the road (a stretch that ends with a three-game West Coast jaunt: Anaheim-San Jose-LA).
-The Isles play the Rangers again in a back-to-back home-and-home on Thursday, December 2 (NVMC) and Friday, December 3 (MSG).
-The Islanders play the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks in Chicago January 9 on the tail end of a 5-game, 10-day road trip that includes stops in Detroit, Calgary, Edmonton, and Colorado.
-The last of three home games against the Rangers will be on Thursday, March 31.
-The Isles will close out the regular season Saturday, April 9 against the Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia Flyers.
