UPDATE: Isles and Ducks scoreless after two periods
Isles outshot Ducks 11-6 in the second but still no score throughout the first two periods. After two unsuccessful power-play attempts the Isles drop to 0-for-4 with the man-advantage on the game.
Radek Martinek dropped the gloves against Ducks center Ryan Carter midway through the second. A rare sight, but Islanders have got to be frustrated at this point
UPDATE: Isles and Ducks scoreless after first period
Scoreless after the first period, but a much better start for the Islanders, who controlled the play, finished their checks and were sound in their own end.
The team limited Anaheim to only one shot on goal in the first, and that didn't even come until less than two minutes to play in the period.
Defenseman James Wwisniewski faces his former team as the Islanders try to halt a seven-game slump against Anaheim at Honda Center tonight.
First period will be crucial for the Islanders, who are 0-7-2 when giving up the first goal as they have the past seven games.During the team's current losing streak, they have not once had a lead.
Goaltender Dwayne Roloson get his third consecutive start in net tonight.
