Isles at Kings

Isles lose 5-1; now winless in ten games

See game recap and post-game reaction in blog post above.

Isles trail Kings 3-1 after second period

Justin Williams builds on the Kings lead by lifting the puck over Roloson's right pad at 3:15 to extend his point streak to nine games and give the Kings a 3-1 lead.

Isles trail Kings 2-1 after first period

Anze Kopitar tallies twice for the Kings in the first 5:02 of play, but Rob Schremp cuts the lead in half with a killer shot from the right circle.

Schremp returned to the lineup tonight after being scratched the last two games; told me after the morning skate he really wanted to make an impact tonight.

With Mike Mottau in the box for hooking, Kings will begin the second period on the PP.

Isles try to snap a nine-game winless streak tonight against Jonathan Quick and the Kings.

Defenseman Jack Hillen left the morning skate today not feeling well, so he will not play tonight. The Isles will roll only five defensemen as a result.

Center Rob Schremp returns to the lineup after two games scratched. Jon Sim was originally supposed to be the corresponding forward to sit, but he'll play as an extra forward tonight in Hillen's absence.

Goaltender Dwayne Roloson gets his fifth straight start tonight.
