Isles at NJ tonight

Isles take on the Devils tonight at the Prudential Center for their third pre-season game. The Isles dropped their first two on Wednesday with split squads in Saskatoon and Philadelphia.

-Newly-signed for Devil Mike Mottau will not be playing tonight against his former team; he will face them tomorrow, however. Mottau had a big day Monday, when he celebrated both the birth of his fourth child Brooke and his two-year contract wit the Islanders. "It was a day I'll remember for the rest of my life," he said after today's morning skate.

Coincidentally, Mottau said the first player he saw upon arriving on Long Island was  Frans Nielsen. Mottau immediately apologized for the hit on Nielseon two season ago that left the Danish center sidelined for several weeks. Nielsen told him no hard feelings.

More on him later...

-Rick DiPietro will get the start at home vs. NJ Saturday

-Matt Martin was wearing a walking boot on his left foot this morning after blocking a shot Wednesday in Saskatoon. Said he's "gonna try" to play tomorrow.
