PITTSBURGH -- Jack Capuano tried to be coy about his lineup changes, but the extra on-ice work of a few Islanders gave away his likely Game 2 lineup.

David Ullstrom appears to be subbing in for Marty Reasoner up front, and Matt Carkner would be in for Thomas Hickey on defense.

Evgeni Nabokov, who took a Jarome Iginla slap shot off his head that broke his mask and was pulled after allowing four goals on 15 shots, will start in goal Friday night.

Ullstrom last played for the Isles on March 14, getting sent to Bridgeport for most of the final two weeks of the AHL season. He had two goals and three assists in 20 games and had some chemistry with Keith Aucoin early in the season. Those two will likely start Game 2 on a line with Michael Grabner.

Carkner will give the Isles a bit more snarl on defense, though the Penguins’ speed could cause some trouble. With a smaller, more mobile corps in Game 1, the Isles were scrambling in their own end on a few occasions.

Radek Martinek was another option for Capuano, but the coach went with Carkner's size over Martinek's steadiness.
