Ohio State's Shane Sims, who finished with three goals and 16 assists in 37 games during his senior season for the Buckeyes.
The 5-11, 192-pound Sims was actually a fifth-round pick (126th overall) of the Islanders back in 2006, but never signed. At least there is some familiarity with him within the organization.
The 22-year-old East Amherst, NY native will make his NHL debut tonight with the Islanders in Philly for the season finale.
