Jesse Joensuu and Dylan Reese up w/Isles as they take on Detroit

The Islanders brought up Bridgeport forward Jesse Joensuu and defenseman Dylan Reese yesterday to accompany the team on their lengthy 11-day  Western Conference road trip.

First stop? Detroit.

After topping arguably the hottest team in hockey with a 2-1 shootout win over the Penguins Wednesday, the Islanders are in for another tough test tonight.

The Western-Conference leading Red Wings are coming into tonight's contest with 3 straight wins and are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, an impressive feat considering the recent injuries to Pavel Datsyuk and Danny Cleary.

The Islanders only meeting with the Red Wings last season was a memorable one. Dwayne Roloson delivered a 16-save shutout as the Islanders pounded Detroit 6-0 January 12.

The Islanders have actually shut out Detroit the previous two meetings. Detroit's last goal against the Islanders was Henrik Zetterberg's overtime game-winner January 30, 2007
