Michael Grabner scored 16 goals this season, harkening back to his rookie season with the Isles in 2010-11. The speedy winger did play nine playoff games with the Canucks in 2010, so he’s been to the postseason before.
Here are his thoughts on this season’s achievement:
“It means a lot. Obviously the last two years it’s tough when you go home and see the other teams playing. For me, it feels like if you go to school for a year and you have to repeat the class when you don’t make the playoffs.
“We got in and we want to go far. Who knows when the next time you’ll be here will be? You never know what happens. Everyone dreams about winning the Stanley Cup and this is the first step. It’s time to be ready now and bring your best game.”
