Montoya in goal vs. depleted Penguins

The Isles lineup remains the same from Thursday's 3-2 OT loss to the Hawks, which means Al Montoya gets his seventh start in the last eight games. He's 3-1-2 over the last seven with a 1.87 GAA and a .934 save percentage.

Kevin Poulin remains the backup. Evgeni Nabokov (groin) did not skate today but that was planned. Jack Capuano said Nabokov may be ready to come off injured reserve by next week.

Nino Niederreiter (concussion) was on the ice with a dozen players for an optional skate this morning, the second straight day Niederreiter has skated.

"I'm doing pretty well," said Niederreiter, who was knocked out by Stars D Mark Fistric's high hit a week ago. "It was definitely a heavy hit. I expected it to be a lot worse. But I feel very good now."

Micheal Haley will be the healthy scratch.

The Penguins are very banged up, especially on defense -- Kris Letang and Zbynek Michalek are on IR, Sidney Crosby is back on the shelf with concussion symptoms and, if Deryk Engelland can't return from a lower-body injury, the Pens will have to call up another D, the 12th they will have used already this season.

But they still have Evgeni Malkin, Marc-Andre Fleury and Jordan Staal, among others.
