Jack Capuano had nothing but glowing words to say about 2010 first-round Entry Draft pick Brock Nelson at Day 2 of Isles mini-camp on Thursday.
I could get all fancy with y'all, but I'll just let Capuano speak for himself.
"Looking at Brock, I think he put on like 12 pounds after his freshman year at North Dakota," said Capuano, who spent the morning in the stands with the scouts. "You can see a little more power in his stride and where he came from in a full year. He's only going to get better next year at North Dakota. He's one of those guys who, if you're asking me who sticks out, that guy for sure."
Nelson, who scored 21 points in 42 games as a freshman at the University of North Dakota, said he's simply went back to basics: "Speed, getting bigger, building muscle mass."
The Isles have Nelson listed at 205 pounds, but he's closer to 190, he said. He's hoping to bulk up more in the coming year and has said that he's feeling no ill-effects from his game against Michigan in the Frozen Four, where he crashed back-first into the boards and had to be carried off on a stretcher after sustaining a lower back injury.
