Nets already crowded at Isles informal skate

Training camp has not even begun and the Islanders' nets are already getting crowded.

Four goalies, all of which will compete for roster spots in training camp later this month, were on the ice during the Islanders' informal skate at the team's practice facility in Syosset Thursday morning.

During opening drills Rick DiPietro and Al Montoya shared the net on one end while Kevin Poulin and newcomer Evgeni Nabokov split reps on the other end.

The Islanders will likely have a glut of goalies in their farm system as well. In addition to Poulin, who may be the starter in Bridgeport if he doesn't make the big club out of camp, the Sound Tigers also have Finnish prospect Mikko Koskinen and Swedish netminder Anders Nilsson.
