With an assist in Portland's 2-1 win last night over Spokane in the Western Hockey League's Western Conference Finals, Islanders first-round draft pick Nino Niederreiter leads the Winterhawks with 20 points (7 goals, 13 assists) in 12 playoff games.
The one-goal win yesterday evened the series 1-1 with play shifting back to Spokane for games 3 and 4.
Niederreiter isn't the only 2010 draft pick that is faring well in the playoffs.
3rd-round selection Kirill Kabanov has 18 points (7 goals and 11 assists) in 13 games for the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the QMJHL.
Despite Kabanov's efforts, the MAINEiacs trail the Saint John SeaDogs 2-0 in the semifinal series; Game 3 is in Lewiston Tuesday night.
