See? The 5th overall pick is nothing to be bummed about...

Islanders prospect Nino Niederreiter, who was selected 5th overall in the draft last June, scored two goals in the Portland Winterhawks 5-4 road win over the Kelowna Rockets in the second round of the WHL playoffs.

Niederreiter, who was sent back to his junior club after playing for the first nine games with the Islanders, has a point in each of the Winterhawks seven playoff games.

The 18-year-old Swiss winger finished with 41 goals and 29 assists for 70 points in 55 regular season games for Portland this season.
