Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro, who suffered a groin strain during Monday's 5-2 win over Calgary, is on the ice for the Islanders morning skate at Rexall Place today.
This doesn't necessarily mean DiPietro will play--he usually does not skate in the morning on days he plays--but it is a good indication that his injury isn't too serious.
Nathan Lawson and Kevin Poulin are also on the ice. My bet is the Islanders go back to Lawson tonight, but we'll see soon...
Frans Nielsen (groin) and Blake Comeau (neck) are both practicing. Only Islanders forward I do not see out there is Josh Bailey, although he did practice yesterday.
