Tim Jackman, who suffered an eye injury in Ottawa New Year's Eve, is not on the ice and will not play tonight.
Still waiting for an exact diagnosis and timeline for the injury, which was the result of Matt Carkner's three brutal punches to Jackman's face in retaliation for hitting Chris Campoli along the end boards near the end of the period.
Jackman was taken to a hospital in Ottawa Thursday night as a precaution and is apparently okay.
I'll also check back once I hear the next step in Rick DiPietro's rehab plan.
DiPietro, who made his third rehab start in Providence last night, stopped 25 of 28 shots for Bridgeport.
Taking Jackman's place in the lineup is Jeff Tambellini, who appears to be skating on the left wing of the fourth line with Richard Park at center and Jon Sim on the right wing.
Sean Bergenheim, who has not played since suffering a rib injury in Philadelphia December 8, is also practicing with the team this morning.
