USA v. Germany at IIHF World Championships today at 2:15

UPDATE: Germany upset the U.S. 2-1 with a crowd-pleasing overtime goal that deflects off the shin of Felix Schultz...U.S. will re-rack over the weekend and play again Monday.

The 2010 U.S. Men's hockey team (which includes Islanders head coach Scott Gordon, Kyle Okposo and Jack Hillen) takes on Germany today at 2:15 p.m. to kick off the IIHF World Championships in front of what is expected to be a record-setting crowd.

According to USA Hockey's website, Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen is expected to be packed to capacity--76,152 to be exact, surpassing previous World Championship attendance records and the current record of 74,554, set by a game between my alma mater Michigan State University and University of Michigan.

You can catch Gordon behind the bench as well as both Okposo and Hillen in action with the game broadcast on Universal Sports.
