The Missisauga St. Mike's center, a fourth-round pick in 2009, had until the end of today to agree to terms or go back in the June draft, but the Islanders and Cizikas agreed on a deal today.
Katie Strang had the details yesterday that the two sides were confident a deal would be reached. Cizikas had 29 goals and 64 points as captain for Missisauga, which lost the Memorial Cup final to Saint John of the QMJHL, 3-1, on Sunday.
Cizikas, 20, is considered a solid two-way player and depth center, not necessarily a top-six forward. But the Islanders could use all the depth they can get.
