Poulin, a 2008 fifth-round pick, was called up in January 2011 after Dwayne Roloson had been traded and Rick DiPietro was hurt. He acquitted himself well in 10 appearances, before suffering a freak knee injury while warming up for a game on Feb. 8. He then served as the backup for Evgeni Nabokov. The Isles' prized goalie prospect was in full uniform today for the team photo, which had to set some sort of league record for most goaltenders in one team picture, with four.

Poulin is still hobbling around but without crutches three weeks after surgery to repair a dislocated kneecap. He says he'll need a knee brace for the next month, then he can begin some light workouts to start strengthening his leg. He says he is on track to be ready for training camp in September.

"The first week was hard, mentally," he said. "I was here, I was playing, it was great. And then the injury was just bad luck, so now it's next year for me."
