Converse to the Isles' miniscule playoff percentages outlined in the previous post from the excellent Sports Club Stats website, the Rangers are in good shape -- very good shape.
According to the site, the Rangers have an 89.3% chance of making the postseason, the fifth-best percentage in the East (behind the Flyers, Penguins, Bruins and Canadiens).
The site breaks down each of the playoff slots by percentage too -- Rangers are not likely to be a top seed, with a 3% chance of gaining the No. 1 seed, 1% at No. 2 and 0% at No. 3; most likely slots for them are fifth (27%) or sixth (21%).
