Yet another trade of a top-6 forward by the Flyers, this time down to Florida where Versteeg is reunited with his old Chicago GM, Dale Tallon.

The price was hardly steep: A 2nd-round pick in either 2012 or 2013 and a 3rd-rounder in 2012.

Versteeg is only 25, has scored 20 or more three times and this is his third team in two seasons.

The Panthers are now less than $10-million from the salary cap floor. This deal actually qualifies as a smart one for Florida. That still doesn't counteract all the less-than-smart ones they've made the last week or so.
