Rangers lose, 5-3; John Tortorella calls out Marian Gaborik

Here's what Tortorella said when asked specifically about Gaborik: "He's supposed to be our best player. I looked at (Tampa's) best players, they looked pretty good. I didn't see our best player."

Yeesh. Gaborik was getting some treatment on his shoulder postgame and no one caught up with him. That should change after today's practice.

Tortorella put no blame at Henrik Lundqvist's feet and said he checked with the goaltender to see whether Lundqvist wanted to come out at 5-0 after two periods.

"I wanted to do what was best for him. I did check, and he wanted to stay out there and fight through it," Tortorella said. "We just looked brain-dead the first part of this game. There were a few guys who just threw their uniforms out there tonight."

Guessing that tomorrow's practice will not be a light one.
