Avery back on ice, Callahan sits out Rangers practice

Sean Avery's bruised something-or-other is better, so he practiced with the team today at the MSG Training center. Ryan Callahan's sore something-or-other (knee, it seems) is better, but not quite good enough to have allowed him to practice.

Callahan still could play tomorrow night against the Islanders, according to John Tortorella.

Everything else stayed intact -- including Brandon Dubinsky on the left side with Erik Christensen and Marian Gaborik. Tortorella called Dubinsky "an important piece of what we need to do here right now."

As for Olli Jokinen, who was dropped from the power play and the top two lines, Tortorella chose his words carefully. "He has to be better. He knows he has to be better. That's all I say."

And that's all from Greenburgh. Stay tuned for Zip's live chat in a few.
