Sean Avery, Wojtek Wolski are scratched for the second day. As far as we know from here in New York (had to cancel trip for medical reasons, but feeling better, thanks) Avery is fine, Wolski has a groin tweak, Sauer (shoulder) not quite ready. This is seven days since Sauer sprained it in Philly, so probably precautionary.
Erik Christensen in again. Maybe MSG will tell us what's up with this. Is this a final chance for Christensen to be the 13th forward? Is is a showcase for a trade? (But that's odd, suppose he gets injured?) Does it mean they are trying to move Avery, which seems pretty impossible in the NHL? Christensen, on the other hand, has a more stable track record and thus, value, at $925,000 for one more season.
FYI: Cs John Mitchell and Kris Newbury have cleared waivers and will report to the AHL. Dale Weise could still be claimed tomorrow.
