Biron is the guy in NY

The Rangers have signed former Islanders goaltender Martin

The Rangers have signed former Islanders goaltender Martin Biron to a two-year contract worth just under $900,000 per season. Photo Credit: Christopher Pasatieri

As reported for weeks, and again yesterday, one of Hedberg, Biron or Niitymaki was going to be a Ranger: Sounds like former Sabre, Flyer and Islander Biron may be the guy...He made $1.4 mil last season.

UPDATE: Biron apparently has signed a two-year deal worth about $1.8 million.

Also:  Jim Cerny and I at scrimmage this morning were discussing Derek Boogaard as potential replacement for Shelley, if need be.  So have others, obviously....Also, Derek Stepan signing official....
