On the eve of a critical five-games-in-seven days stretch leading to the All-Star break, the Rangers announced that leading scorer Brandon Dubinsky will miss three to four weeks with a stress fracture of the tibia in his left leg.
Dubinsky joins Ryan Callahan (hand), Erik Christensen (knee), Alex Frolov (knee) and Vinny Prospal (knee surgery) and Derek Boogaard (concussion) on the sideline. It is unclear when Dubinsky, who practiced with the club yesterday, was injured or who will be called up to replace him. Evgeny Grachev is a possible replacement. The Rangers are leaving for Carolina after tonight's game with Toronto.
Dubinsky has 17 goals and 21 assists this season, leading the Rangers in both categories.
Dale Weise, expected to be scratched, will be in tonight's lineup against the Maple Leafs.
