Derick Brassard, the former Blue Jackets center who wasn't always on the same page with former head coach Scott Arniel, said that he's turned the page and has no concerns about their relationship.

"It's in the past," he said. "I talked to Arnie when he got hired (here as an associate to head coach Alain Vigneault), I called him (and said) 'No hard feelings.' I think Arnie could be a great addition to our forwards and power play. I have no hard feelings, and like the coach said with our shirts - 'Clean Slate' and everything's good between us.

"We're here to help the I said, he could be a great fit for us. He played in the league, got experience, when I talked to AV, he said he was doing a great job with their farm team."

As for fellow pivot Derek Stepan: "You can't replace Step ( who is in the midst of a contract dispute). We have a lot of depth at center with Richie and Brian and the young kid Lindberg, one of the guys is going to have to step up, and hopefully we can have Step back in the next couple days or next couple weeks."
