Chris Kreider, who apparently hasn't shown enough to stick with a healthier Rangers team, has been sent to the Connecticut Whale, the Blueshirts confirmed a few minutes ago
The left wing, who has received very little ice time recently, played just 4;23 against Winnipeg on Tuesday, and is 1-1-2 in 11 games. Coach John Tortorella, has said that the skilled rookie who burst on the scene with five playoff goals last season right out of Boston College, needed to improve defensively and to be on the puck more. Kreider missed four games with a bone chip in his ankle from Jan. 26 to Feb. 2.
With Rick Nash returning, Kreider, 21, who had averaged about 10 minutes a game before Tuesday, was a spare at this point, and will play regularly in Hartford. He played 34 games in Hartford during the lockout and was 5-7-12 with a minus-7.
