No morning skate for the Rangers (good call; I live 4-5 miles from the MSG Training Center and we caught about 18 inches of snow), but Metro-North is running, so I'll be at the Garden for another edition of Rangers-Isles tonight.
Isles are picking up points (two more in the 4-1 win against Montreal last night in a game that the Isles asked the league to postpone and were turned down) and Rangers have had three days without a game since the Tampa shootout loss. Could be a sluggish start for the Blueshirts.
Other news: Marian Gaborik (sore groin) should be able to dress and Mats Zuccarello, who played in the 4-0 Whale victory last night, is expected at the Garden for tonight's game. My guess is that he'll be here for the Devils game in Newark on Wednesday as well. Whale signed former Red Wings/Jackets right wing Jason Williams, 30, to a tryout contract.
In the WJC, prospect Chris Kreider had two assists in the 3-2 OT defeat of Finland by Team USA. Good game, from what I saw, cable signal was erratic last night.
More from the Garden later....
