In their first deal of the day, the Rangers have signed C Dominic Moore to a one-year deal, the team said. The contract is worth a reported $1 million.
Moore, 32, who played at Harvard University, was drafted by the Rangers in 2000 and debuted on Nov. 1, 2003, with three assists against the Canadiens. He played with the Hartford Wolfpack during the lockout, then rejoined the Rangers in 2005-06, and played primarily on a checking line with Ryan Hollweg and Jed Ortmeyer. He was traded to the Penguins on 2006, and has played for seven other teams.
Moore, who did not play last season for family reasons, played for the Sharks in 2011-12. In 530 games, he has 67 goals and 185 points.
