EV Zug 5, NYR 4 after 2 in Switzerland

Golden goal$-a-plenty just outside of Zurich. Rangers were down 2-0 early and 3-1 and 5-3 to a speedy, creative Zug team on the big ice. But Ruslan Fedotenko made it 5-4 near the end of the 2nd.  Mike Rupp, Ryan Callahan and Artem Anisimov, continuing his fine offensive play on this European trip, had the other goals.

Marty Biron has lad his lapses, especially his oops on the second goal. Brad Richards was frozen on a shorthander by Josh Holden, who's been suspended for eight games in the Swiss league for a head hit, but can play in this exhibition.

On the fourth goal, Bickel got back too late and couldn;t lift the stick in front of the scorer deflecting in front, On the fifth, Erik Christensen left the front of the net needlessly.  He and Sean Avery, a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game, are battling for the 13 spot, according to Tortorella.  I'm starting to wonder if whoever survives won't be replaced by Carl Hagelin or Ryan Bourque or Kris Newbury or John Mitchell in the first month.

Brian Boyle, Brandon Dubinsky and Fedotenko all have seen time with Richards and Gaborik on the first line.
