For 2010-11, the first Blue Night on Broadway (Update)

Old No. 6 is is Hartford, but the Rangers can put up a six by knocking off the Leafs. Your Blueshirts have won five straight home openers.

(UPDATE). Nope that's four straight. NYR media notes said five consecutive, but in 2005, Rangers lost to Canadiens 4-3 in OT.  Score that a minus-1 for the staff and minus-1 for me for not double-checking.

No morning skate today, but the lineup should be:

                 Alex Frolov-Chris Drury-Marian Gaborik

                 Brandon Dubinsky-Artem Anisimov-Ryan Callahan

                 Sean Avery-Derek Stepan-Ruslan Fedotenko

                 Derek Boogaard-Brian Boyle-Brandon Prust

                 Marc Staal-Michal Rozsival

                 Michael Del Zotto-Dan Girardi

                 Matt Gilroy-Steve Eminger

                 Henrik Lundqvist

                 Martin Biron

That's five forwards who weren't here for the last opener, a d-man and a backup goaltender. Seven outta 20.

Leafs will start J.S. Guigere in net; Phil Kessel seems primed for a huge year. And watch Nik Kulemin, could be a breakout guy.

As I wrote the other day, Vinny Prospal scored the first home goal last year. Not gonna happen tonight being on IR.

                So who will?

Send in your prediction...We'll tally em later.

Talk to ya from the Garden...

As I kinda hinted last two days, ex-Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley will roll out "New York Groove" before game from ice side, and Duff of Ace of Cakes will unveil 85th anniversary cake during intermissing. Puck shaped? Nah, too easy. Maybe a goalie mask....LI's John Amirante will deliver the anthems...
