From Parlett to Richards...

Free agent defenseman Blake Parlett, who split last season between the Rangers’ ECHL and AHL affiliates, signed a two-year contract with an annual NHL cap hit of $537,000. Parlett, 22, played for the Connecticut Whale, where he had two goals and 10 assists in 24 games, and the Greenville Road Warriors, where he had seven goals and 25 assists in 46 games and led the league in points for defensemen before he was called to Hartford. That's where he'll be in 2011-12..

No surprise here. Word is that the unsettled Dallas Stars, with no coach and ownership in flux, won't be offering Brad Richards a contract.  Seems to me he made it pretty clear that he wanted to test the UFA waters. Dallas would like to trade his rights, but he has a no-move clause that he would have to waive. If Rangers can satisfy his contract demands, I believe he will be wearing 91 in New York. If Stars are smart, they will take what Rangers offer for rights, rather than lose the center for nothing...
