Gaborik will try the morning skate

Marian Gaborik did speak of his injury, for the first time, just a little while ago.

"I'm just glad it's not worse," he said, adding that he had been on the stationary bike and felt good. He said the swelling from the cut, which required 21 stitches, is down.

He will try to skate in the morning tomorrow at Pittsburgh and made a determination about whether he can play in the game tomorrow night. Part of the issue is feeling comfortable with all the gear on, he said.

But he did have a ace bandage on his leg with an ice pack underneath it. And he was walking gingerly.

As for playing in the Olympic next week, he said, "I'm not thinking that far ahead."
