Gametime in Denver....(UPDATE) Scoreless after 1

In the pre-game warmups here at Pepsi Center,  Todd White took line rushes with Sean Avery and Erik Christensen, so at first glance, it appears Derek Boogaard will be scratched. Assume he will play tomorrow in Minnesota.

FIRST PERIOD

It ends scoreless. Rangers outshot Avs 9-8. They had been down 5-2. Rangers seemed to grab momentum after a power play at 11:22 with Brandon Yip off for interference, but Craig Anderson was up to the task, stopping Frolov, off a cross-ice feed from Stepan, and then Stepan as well. Marc Staal, who led everyone on the ice with three shots, also came close, with Anderson diving to his right to make the save.

Lundqvist, meanwhile, had come to the top of the crease to pokecheck David Jones, who then crashed into him at 8:56.

The Rangers had killed a power play with Dan Girardi off for hooking at 4:15. Ryan O'Byrne struggling on D for Lanche.
