Seventh place that is, because Montreal gouged Ottawa 7-1, and with the Sens in sorry shape, seems as if a coaching or GM change in the the cards.
Your Rangers are a point out of sixth (Montreal does have a game in hand), and visit the Thrashers here in Atlanta tonight.
Full report from the pre-game skate coming up: Lundqvist or Biron? Does Brodie Dupont make his debut?
And yes, did make it to one of my favorite stops in this town, Blind Willie's in Virginia Highlands, for two sets from Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, who rocked the old place with the house band, The Shadows.
Watkins is the amazing 70-year-old iconic guitarist who can outplay novices half her age and a voice that can belt the blues with the best of them and sweeten for ballads.
Shadows guitarist Kenny Kilmore, who also has played with Tinsley Ellis, and vocalist/harp/sax man Albey Scholl, who has that Charlie Musselwhite thing going on, should not be missed on your next trip to Atlanta, either. Outstanding.
And if ya don't believe me, ask the Daily News' Jesse Spector, who came along for the ride and was wowed.
Now, back to hockey...
