Ladies and Gents, start the second-guessing: No Sauer, Kennedy in lineup

Right now...there's still the morning skate Saturday at HSBC for a final determination.

I'm already en route to Buffalo, but that's the word from Andrew Gross, who attended practice this AM. I owe him a beverage later when he arrives upstate. Think he might accept....

Tim Kennedy, as we know, is a Buffalo native and was bought out by the Sabres after his 10-16-26 rookie season and awarded $1 mil in arbitration. I'm sure some fans are wondering whether the kid would've raised the bar tomorrow night to show the Sabres that they were wrong, but...

Rookie Mike Sauer also appears to be sitting in favor of vert Steve Eminger. Can't really question this one. Eminger's a vet and needs to be evaluated; he didn't play until the final preseason games due to a tweaked groin. Maybe Sauer will get a shot against the Isles on Monday.

The lines appear to be the same: Frolov-Christensen-Gaborik; Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan; Avery-Stepan-Fedotenko; Boogaard-Boyle-Prust, but coach John Tortorella, according to Andrew, said he wasn't sure whether he woul keep Staal and Girardi together...Also, Callahan will be only player with a letter; captain Chris Drury and alternate Vinny Prospal are on IR

All this may be just rumblings. Saturday's game may very well be decided by the two world-class goalies: Ryan Miller and Henrik Lundqvist.

And hey, spares are a better situation than the Devs. We're hearing they will dress seven D and 11 forwards because of cap/signing issues. Mr. Kovalchuk better play like two regulars...

                Thoughts?

                More later....
