WITH ROW (Regulation plus OT wins) TIEBREAKER
5. Maple Leafs (nine GR) 22-13-4, 48 points, 22 ROW
6. Senators (nine GR), 19-14-6, 44, 15 ROW
7. Islanders (eight GR), 20-16-4, 44, 17 ROW
8. Rangers (nine GR), 19-16-4, 42, 16 ROW
9. Jets (seven GR) 20-19-2, 42, 19 ROW
10. Devils (nine GR), 15-14-10, 40, 13 ROW
So, the Rangers are in good position to make the postseason, especially if they can grab two points tonight at MSG. They also lead the Isles in second tie-break, head-to-head points, prior to a massive game on Saturday in Uniondale.
The Leafs are in, unless they somehow collapse, and I expect a more physical game from the Rangers than on Wednesday at the ACC, and a corresponding rebound from Mr. Lundqvist. Might be nice to have the crowd at MSG behind them, too. Been a pretty quiet multitude this season, but who can blame em?
Devils-Bs tonight, without Ilya Kovalchuk again. Adding Jagr has helped Bruins, for sure.
Marc Staal skated and shot today with four other mates in the AM optional, which included Darrole Powe, Matt Gilroy and Roman Hamrlik. The latter two will be scratches.
Staal, who said his peripheral vision is good, is getting there, but I'm figuring is still weeks away; eye is blurry, hasn't scrimmaged, taken contact or practiced yet. He's staying positive.
More from MSG this afternoon, stay tuned here and @stevezipay on that Twitter thang.
