Live from Ottawa, previewing Sens-Rangers

OTTAWA----Relatively painless flight from Newark today. Made easier by Gary Burton’s “Alone at Last: Live at Montreux” on the shuffle. Will be driving from Byward Market area to ScotiaBank Place around 3 p.m., wary of Friday afternoon rush-hour to Kanata.
Seriously. That and the sun glare.

Some numbers to ponder:

Sens won at Garden 3-1 in that weird 5 p.m. start on Dec. 5, with Brandon Prust scoring a shortie.

Four days later, Blueshirts won here 5-3, with Stepan, Feds, Erik Christensen, Sauer (GW on PP) and Brandon Dubinsky scoring. Rangers were 2-0 here last season, winning 2-1 in a shootout on Nov. 14, and March 2, 4-1. All three wins were with Henrik Lundqvist between the pipes and he'll be there tonight. Sens come to Manhattan to close the series this year on March 24.

Rangers have won two in a row on the road (topping Washington and Carolina), after dropping four straight away matches….

Christensen is 3-3-6 in last four games….vinny Prospal is 1-4-5 in five…Dubinsky hasn’t scored in nine games…Marian Gaborik (concussion symptoms) will miss his sixth straight….Mats Zuccarello’s last goal was 19 games ago…If Steve Eminger subs for Ryan McDonagh (knee), as expected, it’ll be his 400th NHL game…Remember, 7:30, not 7, start

We'll have access to coach John Tortorella about 5:20. Swing by for excerpts.....
