A worthy trio:
Henrik Lundqvist, Marian Gaborik and Dan Girardi were selected to play in the All-Star Game in Ottawa on Jan. 29.
Lundqvist, 29, is 19-7-4 with a 1.85 GAA and has allowed just eight goals during his current seven-game winning streak. Opponents have been held to two or fewer goals in 21 of his games this season. He had played in the 2009 game and in last year's.
Gaborik, signed as a free agent in July 2009, has 23 goals (third in the NHL) and 11 assists for 34 points and is a plus-10. It's his third All-Star selection; the first two were with the Wild.
Girardi leads the NHL in average ice time, (more than 27 minutes per game), is in the top five in blocked shots and has been a cornerstone of the team’s defense with former d-partner (and last year’s All-Star) Marc Staal injured for all but four games of the first half.
