More from Tampa....Torts wouldn't mind public practices

As Lightning coach, John Tortorella opened many practices for fans, students and community groups here and said he would welcome them in Westchester. Problem: No seats in MSG Training Center. Interestingly, he said players perform better in front of an audience...  The mood was upbeat in the visitors' locker room at the St. Pete Times Forum and the Rangers are having a team dinner tonight....In case you care, three of the travelling writers will ring out the old at a local steakhouse in walking distance...Tortorella said Derek Boogaard, who is believed to have suffered a concussion in a fight with Matt Carkner on Dec. 9, "is not symptom-free"...Ryan Callahan is on the trip, and watched practice in street clothes and wearing a soft brace on his broken left hand....Vinny Prospal said his surgically repaired knee is getting a little stronger every day... Rozsival told me that Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga will host the country's first pro outdoor game on Sunday in a motorcycle racing arena, Pardubice-Svítkov Speedway, that will be expanded to fit 17,000 seats and standing room....
