NYR 4, Canes 2. The Wrap: More post-game quotes and stats

First, how about some post-game quotes that didn’t fit in the paper:

Martin Biron on The Line: “At times they were just throwing passes from one side of the boards to the other corner. It looked like it was a blind pass just to get rid of the puck. We were first on it and they were reading each other really well, creating a lot of buzz around the net. It was just one of those nights when everything was connecting. The ice was a little choppy, which is a tribute to their skill set.”

Tortorella: “To me the biggest key is Hags. He chases down pucks. They have puck possession because he’s always chasing down pucks and he can make a play.”

Richards: “When I started playing with him (Hagelin) a few weeks ago, he probably wouldn’t have made (those passes), so you can tell he has confidence.”

Biron on subbing at the last minute: “Hank came through for me in the Winnipeg game when I got sick, so I had to return the favor and it worked out pretty good.”

Hagelin on his goal: “I was going to pass it to Richie, like I did all night, but the D closed it off on the inside. So I just went around. I’ve seen (fellow Swede) Peter Forsberg do it.”
