On the ship of fool-ishness...

The ship of foolishness sails on...

Money is draining from the league day by day in gate and exposure; players will lose their third paycheck Thursday. There is no way on earth that revenues will grow this year; my guess is that they will be down 7-10 percent, even with a December start.  Remember when the league predicted an annual five percent increase in revenuesand based its projections on that? Hahaha....

Yet there is no face to face negotiating and none planned; Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly has said the league is done making proposals. I've come around to the point that this needs to be done through backchannels, or intermediaries, who can find a way to break the, uh.. ice.

Meanwhile, it's college hoops at MSG for me tomorrow night, and Knicks on Sunday.

'All hands on deck, we've run afloat!' I heard the captain cry
'Explore the ship, replace the cook: let no one leave alive!'
Across the straits, around the horn: how far can sailors fly?
A twisted path, our tortured course, and no one left alive....
