Some quotes and stats you may not read in the papers:

- Torts on McDonagh move around Kadri on goal: “Quite honestly, I gave him crap about that move earlier in the game, and he does it again and scores a goal. So much for coaching. Ryan McDonagh is always going to try to make things happen, no matter how much is left in his tank.”

- Carl Hagelin (9 g,11 a) and Ryan McDonagh (4 g,11 a) each had a goal and assist.

- Leafs had 4 shots in OT, Rangers 2.

- Neither team had a power play goal; Leafs were 0-3, Rangers 0-for-2.

- Derick Brassard and Derek Stepan each had an assist.

- Lundqvist is 13-6-1 at home.

- Rangers are 12-0-0 when leading after the second period.

- Zuke, who had no shots: “I feel more confident and I’m playing with good players (who was bounced around, including with Stepan for a while) and getting big minutes. I just have to keep creating chances and work hard and it’s going to come.”

- Leafs coach Randy Carlyle: “We played well for 53 minutes…there were seven or eight minutes in the second period when we let the game get away from us. We didn’t play fast like we normally do, and consequently we gave up two goals. We can’t afford to do that this time of year.”

- Lundqvist: “We had a so-so first period, but after that we really stepped up.”

Dan Girardi played a team-high 28:52….Anton Stralman, playing with Michael Del Zotto, was a team-high plus -2…Brad Richards had five shots; Rick Nash just 1; Taylot Pyatt played a team-low 4:51…Brian Boyle and Ryan Callahan had five hits each; Leafs dominated faceoffs, 62 percent to 38, most from Tyler Bozak, who won 21 of 32. ..Rangers are now four points ahead of the 10th place Devils, who lost 5-4 in Boston

Note: The Rangers will not practice tomorrow; Torts actually admitted that they were tired after the trip to Carolina and Canada.
