Rangers-Flyers scoreless after 1


         The chirping started in pre-game warmups. Dan Carcillo was yapping at the red line toward the Rangers and Derek Boogaard nudged him with a shoulder toward the Flyers end. The Rangers carried the play for the first two minutes, drawing some groans from the restless crowd, which got a little more involved when Jody Shelley dropped the gloves with Boogaard at 3:16. The Rangers enforcer decisioned the ex-Rangers enforcer.

        Nik Zherdev, another former Ranger, had the first two shots for the Flyers, one on a power play when Michael Sauer was banished for slashing. Lundqvist stopped both his deflection and a sharp angle wrister. The Flyers had a second man-advantage when Marc Staal went off for boarding Zherdev behind the net, but Lundqvist stopped both power-play shots. The Rangers, meanwhile, could not mount any attack, with the best chances coming when Brandon Prust hit the right post and Erik Christensen whistled a wrister from the high slot wide. But the Rangers finished with just two shots, by Sean Avery and Michal Rozsival, a season low for a period.
