Ryan Callahan will play vs. Sabres

The right wing's absence from practice was about the biggest news item this morning, but Ryan Callahan was given the day off to for rest/treatment and will play Wednesday against the Sabres.

Mats Zuccarello skated in Callahan's spot during practice, which may not bode well for the little Norwegian's chances to avoid a second consecutive healthy scratch. We'll know more when the Blueshirts practice again tomorrow at 11.

The Rangers spent much of the second half of practice working on the power play. After scoring just three goals in the past three games, why not?

The combos:

1st unit: Prospal, Boyle, Gaborik. (Boyle subbing in front for Callahan); McCabe and Staal on points. Gaborik scored with a wrister off Lundqvist's arm.

2nd unit: Wolski, Dubinsky, Christensen; Stepan, Girardi on points.

Zuccarello, Eminger, Anisimov, Gilroy, McDonagh, Sauer were among those on PK duty.
