The Rangers are practicing at noon---for possibly their last time this season---and will have their fingers crossed at 7:30 when puck drops for Canes at Thrashers.
Carolina's 4-0-1 against the Thrash; but only one decided in regulation, a 3-2 win on Feb. 13 in Lanta. Tim Stapleton scored in OT to give the Thrashers a 3-2 win on March 9 in Raleigh.
If the Canes lose in regulation or only grab a point, the door re-opens for the Blueshirts. Two points any way against the Devils clinches a playoff spot. Stranger things have happened this season, but IMO, odds are stacked against it. Other game to keep an eye on, Buffalo/Philly. Flyers need a win badly, Ryan Miller may be back for Sabres, who are just one point up on Rangers.
Rangers-Devs this year?
Oct 24: NY wins 3-1 at MSG; Nov. 5, NY wins 3-0 at The Rock; Dec. 29, NY wins 3-1 at The Rock. In Feburary, though Devs won twice: 3-2 at MSG on Feb. 3 and 1-0 at The Rock on Feb. 18.
