Sweeping up: Live chat, NHL sked, Jagr, transactions

No, there wasn't riot debris to clean up at Chez Zipay after the Canucks lost, although I had picked them to win in 7 and looted the fridge during the game.

Lots of blame to go around: No punch from Sedins, thin D w/o Hamhuis, Rome (and Ballard's $4.2 mil on the bench), and an average Luongo.   Credit the Bs for wearin' em down and Thomas for shutting them down.

Reporting/researching draft prospects, we'll have a live chat Tuesday at 1 p.m. My sense is that the Rangers will keep No. 15 and take a forward (one scout told me that he believed 19 of first 25 picks would be forwards), but would not be surprised if there are trades in the 10-20 range. Meet me here for the chat.

Saw a note that Jaromir Jagr's agent has contacted Caps, Rangers, Red Wings, Pens, Canadiens to determine whether there is any interest in the big fella. Sounds like due diligence to try to get more $$$ from Avangard.

According to my notes, NHL reg-season schedule is due out next Wednesday the 22nd, but that may be slightly delayed with the shift of Atlanta to Winnipeg.

As I re-tweeted to MSTrib writer Mike Russo before the news of Mike Yeo being named as Wild coach broke, was told by person familiar with situation that  Craig McTavish---the only other candidate for the Minny job---was the favorite in Winnipeg. Sounds even more probable now.

Free agent Jeremy Williams, 27, who led the Wolf Pack/Whale in goals with 32 and played one game for the Rangers, signed a deal with the Red Bulls of the Austrian Elite League. Had no future here, with youngsters moving in.
