The Wrap: Lundqvist stars, Girardi wins it, 1-0 in OT on LI

What to say?

Helluva game. Lived up to the billing.

So pleased it didn't have to end in a shootout, whoever won.

We have plenty of coverage, stories, notebooks, sidebars and even more here, extras for ya.

The Rangers are now 5-1-1 in the last seven and 3-0 in OT.

According to the team, the Blueshirts are 14-3-3 since Dec. 19, 2009 against the Isles. The last time the Rangers and Islanders skated in a 1-0 game was a Blueshirts’ win on Mar. 17, 2003, at Madison Square Garden. The last time the two teams skated through 60 minutes of scoreless hockey was a 0-0 tie on Dec. 9, 1989, here in the coliseum.

Derick Brassard is 1-5-6 in six games as a Ranger since the Gaborik trade.

It was Henrik Lundqvist's 50th career shutout. The Isles were thisclose to preventing  that.  And the goal was Dan Girardi's first ever in OT.

Michael del Zotto is fifth on the team with 14 assists.

On the downside, the Rangers were 0-for-4 on the power play. It's an issue that still begs to be addressed.
