Have you heard and read enough from me about the power play? I have.

Yes, it's bad, it's been bad, and will improve with Ryan Callahan back whenever (possibly tonight against the Isles at MSG) and when Torts puts Chris Kreider there again.  Dan Girardi was OK there on the the point, but he'll be sidelined again with a mystery ailment that the coach declines to divulge. I'll give you one quote from Torts below and we move on.

I took a detour from that and wrote about Kreider today, how he's finding the transition to the NHL and New York and why he has to be a big part of the puzzle. Did you know that seven of his eight NHL points (five goals and two assists) have come in third periods? It's here:

Now, the scaredy-cats. "Just testing the waters," as Torts said about the unnamed offenders. But here's a good guess, because this quartet was miserable Tuesday in NJ. :  Brian Boyle, Michael Del Zotto, Marian Gaborik, Brad Richards.

Here's the coach yesterday on coaches and the PP:

"We're in a jam...We need to take responsibility along with them. So yeah, we're trying to... have a constant conversation with our guys: How do we get this straightened out? Are we giving you too much? Are we not giving you enough? Are there too many options?"

My opinion: Get the puck up ice faster, set a screen in front, shoot and attack the rebounds.

Off to the optional morning skate. Thinking about listening to some classic sides on the way. Procol Harum's superb Broken Barricades...Ya with me?
